A DAY OUT WITH MY TODDLER

Updated: Apr 2

It's no secret that having a toddler is HARD, especially when it seems like their battery is on hyperdrive and the energy is at a thousand. And although exhausting at times, I find it important to stimulate my son mentally and physically. This is my favorite thing to do with my toddler.

My baby loves the outdoors and I'm like a cat in water when it comes to being out in the woods, hiking, all that. I'm a city girl raising a country boy. My son on the other hand is like a Taino navigating the rainforest of Puerto Rico, it's natural and fun for him.

So when I get the rare opportunity to take him out into the woods, I do it! I took him to a park in my area with three playgrounds, a lake, a bike and hiking trail, and more. This time, my mom came with me and as I played with Victor, she had my daughter, Serafina.

Spending this one on one time with him is so special to me because with two babies - it's hard to give him my undivided attention like he used to get.

But running outside with him, showing him all of the animals and insects we come across is also a great learning lesson for him. Which by the way, there was probably a million lady bugs at the park this day and it was beautiful to see.

My baby is a fearless one - I get easily uncomfortable whilst in nature, like I said - city girl. But when I'm with my baby who embraces nature and loves the forest, leaves, trees, and wildlife, it's hard to not fall in love with it too.

Needless to say, this day wore him out! We walked, ran, played, jumped, climbed, and collected leaves together. We barely made it out of the parking lot before he was knocked out. This was a successful day with my baby. As the winter draws near and frost is a normal morning sight, I'll have to plan more indoor activities to do to stimulate him - so stay tuned.
