If you follow me on instagram then you've probably seen my posts on my homemade artisan bread. It's one of guilty pleasures, I love pairing it with our dinner of choice, or as a snack with a gourmet cheese.
Here's how to make the easiest artisan bread!
Ingredients:
All purpose flour
Active dry yeast
Salt
Water
Supplies:
Mixing bowl
Mixing spoon
Dutch oven
Parchment Paper
Saran wrap
Instructions:
In large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of flour, 2 tsp of salt, and 2 1/2 tsp of active dry yeast. Mix or whisk together.
Slowly stir in 11/12 oz of warm/hot water.
Dough should be sticky and consistency should look like very THICK batter, We do not want it to look dry at all.
Cover bowl with saran wrap and put on wooden surface to rise for 3 - 4 hours.
It will rise A LOT, that’s what we want. Transfer to a floured board or surface and fold each side of the bread into itself, do not kneed, just fold once.
Flip dough over and coat with flour and cut an x into the dough.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees, put dutch oven inside to heat while oven heats up.
Let bread rest while oven heats up.
Once oven is ready, place parchment paper inside of dutch oven and lay bread on top (it’s okay if parts of the paper stick out of the pot)
Cover and bake for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, take cover off and cook for another 11-12 minutes.
When ready, take out and let it rest.
Cut and pair with butter or cheese spread + enjoy!
